How We Met
Sookie is the last-born of Mama Louise’s kittens. Though all three kittens were abnormally large at birth, Sookie was the smallest of the three, so I guess she qualified as the runt. From day one, Sookie was fierce. If you looked into the kitten box, all three kittens would be sleeping side-by-side next to their Mom, but Sookie was the one who turned her head and starting doing that spit-hissing thing. She’d get the other two kittens going. As a tiny thing, Sookie would run up to me with her chest puffed out. She even guarded her Mom. Sookie is still a not-so-little spitfire. She challenges Pickles for alpha cat over the food bowl, and she buddied up with our ancient cat Kip during his last year of life, no doubt to enjoy canned food with him in the bathroom (it was a February – December romance). Sookie, like her siblings, does not like to be held, but she will snuggle up against you with a grunt and let you rub her belly.
