How We Met

Shady Lady is one of three kittens born to Mama Louise. As the second-born kitten, she is also the second biggest (behind Merlin). For a long time, we called her “The Shady One” compared to her siblings Merlin who is solid black and Sookie who is a more traditional tortoiseshell. Shady looks like a cross between a Sun Bear and a tortoiseshell cat with her unusual markings. Of the three kittens, Shady is the most feral-acting. She runs when company comes to the house. She is easily disturbed by loud noises or sudden movements. She doesn’t like to be held, but when she is in a mood for love, she will let you rub her entire belly and scratch under her arms while she purrs and purrs and purrs. Shady Lady appears to be in love with Yoshi. Whenever she is near Yoshi, she finds ways to slowly ooze herself near him, as stealthily as a large cat can.
